"I've been happy to collaborate with Ilana on several projects for Nintendo. As an instructional designer, Ilana has created highly interactive, cohesive programs that have always hit the intended mark. She provides easy-to-use instructor guides and strong facilitator support for internal trainers.

"She herself is an excellent facilitator. Whether her workshop participants are senior management or frontline supervisors, Ilana is an engaging trainer and credible expert at the front of the room."

We are skilled in creating powerful, useable, and replicable methods of content delivery for trainers. Learners benefit from the experiential learning tools which we embed in our instructional designs. These help learners to absorb, retain, and apply the desired new information and skills most effectively.

Clients have employed our instructional design services in a variety of ways:

Instructional Design for Your Content

Clients often come to us with a body of information that they want to be able to convey to an audience, but without a clear way to do it. Instructional design takes your information and packages it into a highly effective training curriculum.

Casey Family Programs used our expertise in this way. Their "It's My Life" Transition Framework (for caseworkers who help young adults transition from foster care to independent living) had already been developed through months of hard work. Now Casey needed a way to train the caseworkers. To great success, they hired Madison Valley Consultants to design a curriculum that could be nationally replicated with a diversity of trainers and audiences.

Content Clarification and Instructional Design

We can help you identify what your team most needs to know before designing your in-house training program.

The Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission drew on our skills in this way. We worked with an advisory board to identify what safety officers and correctional officers needed to know about working with people with mental health issues before designing an effective training program. This complex project had to meet the needs of health consumers, their families, and the wider community as well as those of the officers themselves.

Content Development and Delivery

Many clients engage Madison Valley Consultants to both create and deliver curricula.

The University of Washington's Social Development and Research Group hired us to design, pilot and export a health education curricula for middle school students. We successfully took the "My Health" project through the full cycle of development, implementation, evaluation and replication.
